Trevor Noah continues to engage Black thought-leaders in meaningful conversations about COVID-19 and its impact upon Black America. On Thursday, April 9th, Noah spoke with author Roxane Gay about her direct approach to providing empathy and support to people in need. Noah expresses concern over Gay’s decision to give her own money to people needing help to pay bills and buy groceries. Gay’s bold action challenges Black folk to reflect upon the many ways we, as a people, have survived in America, especially when the government and social institutions have not been for us. It may seem radical, and even revolutionary today, but Black folk have always survived by caring for one another.
